August message from President Keith

Our fist project was a huge success. I want to thank Renee for her efforts on the Back to School Shop and everyone who attended to help. I hope you had a great time and it was as rewarding for you as it was for me.

The month of August is Membership Month. It is a good time to think about other people you know and invite them to our meetings and events. Bowlio is coming up this month that would be a great event to invite your friends and co-workers to. They can get a firsthand look at Rotarians having a great time and at the same time wiping out a crippling disease world wide.

Jack is working hard organizing our Dateland work project. He is locating materials we can use that are being donated and needs everyone’s help getting these materials so we can keep this project in our budget. Some of these items may need to be picked up right away which is hard to fit in our schedules but with 68 members we should not have a problem rounding up a few people for an hour’s worth of work.

Robin and her committee are working on the Golf-A-Thon and meeting weekly now and Jan and his committee are in the process of finding candidates for the Old is Gold Campaign. Ronna has completed the application for a simplified grant for the Back Pack program which is currently in review at the district.

We will be sending our first contribution to the Foundation the first week of August. I want to thank everyone who has signed up for the membership package programs and all of you who have made the commitment of being a Sustaining Member. If you have not done this yet but want to, please contact David. He will be glad to get you on board. As stated above we are applying for a simplified grant for our Back Pack program for the Dateland School. That money was sent into the Foundation from you three years ago and is coming home to help us make our community a better place to be.

I hope everyone is enjoying this year so far and has found and got involved in the projects and events that you want to be a part of. If you have not please don’t hesitate to contact me so I can help you find a job. We have so much going on this year and we need everyone’s help!
